Hi guys, I’ve been round and round with O2 regarding a default placed on my account in 2021 from an old mobile number. My credit file shows it was placed on my account in 2021. O2 have a hard time finding the account details as it was on the old Legacy system, and I’ve been in touch with the Payment Management Team, Customer services and the Amendmentsvteam. I’ve now submitted a request for the Credit File Referrals team but it seems people don’t have a lot of luck with them, so I’m not holding out much uppe! From previous posts it seems that you lovely Community O2 people are able to help out in these situations by chasing these up internally? MartinO2 looks like he’s been really helpful in the past but has now left the team! Please help!

If it's a genuine error, you need to add a notice of correction to your credit file.
This will put doubt into the validity of the default and the credit agencies will be forced to question O2 about it.

However, if it is a justified default, you'll need to wait 6 years for it to clear off your file.
